I Am An African!

I Am An African

I am an African!
I said im owing my being to the hills and the valleys of this land, i am.
I am an African!
I said im owing my being to the glades and the mountains of this land, i am.
I am an african!

Happy from the soil and like the colour of my skin
I am my rythm from the beat of the drums
And i am graceful.

Iam an African!
I said im owing my being to the rivers and the deserts of this land, i am.
I am an African!
I said im owing my being to the trees and the seas of this land, i am.
I am an African!

My mind and the knowledge of myself has formed
by the victories of man and women way before my time.
Im born of builders, Im born of diggers and farmers.
Im born of people who are formed by the powers of freedom.

Iam an African!

I said im owing my being to hills and the valleys of this land, i am.
I am an African!
I said im owing my being to the glades and the mountains of this land, i am.
I am an African!

Whatever the situation, Africa shall be at peace.
Through ways of poverty we shall overcome.
However improbable it may be
However improbable it may be
However improbable it may be
Africa shall be at peace!

Because of freedom I am! ...Song by Swazi Dlamini
